Distance education or distance learning is a field of education that focuses on the teaching methods delivered using technology and instructional design systems. The Charter College of Education is organized into three divisions offering academic and professional programs, supported by the Office of Student Services. Many programs prepare students for certification throughout each class, and they also offer numerous optional prep classes that prepare students to sit for certification and licensure exams.
Teachers who wish to increase their skills for advanced certification requirements or other professional objectives can complete a Doctorate in Education or Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction to help them achieve leadership roles and earn higher pay.
Enroll in one of the region’s leading Master of Arts in Teaching programs. A bachelor’s degree program is an undergraduate program that usually takes four years to complete. Our Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning is a flexible, online graduate program for licensed teaches who want to become extraordinary PK-12 educators.
Teachers shape learning and development playing a major part in what a student becomes in the future. The CCOE offers two completely online programs, a Master of Arts in Education option in E-Learning and New Media Design and a Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning.
Elementary Education (BS) Degree
As an elementary education teacher, you will be the one to instill the love of learning in children. They train students to work with both staff and students in a variety of disciplines, ranging from instruction to curriculum development to educational management. When you successfully complete the certification process through the Bachelor of Science in Education in Elementary Education degree program, you will be able to teach at the elementary school level, from grade one through grade six.
Formal education after the bachelor’s degree is the master’s degree with the title of “Maestro” and Doctorate’s degree known as “Doctorado” (doctorate). Core teacher education courses focus on diversity, disciplinary literacy, elementary education methods, and pedagogy.
Self-paced courses can provide you with a way to earn clock hours for free, or graduate credit toward a master’s degree at a fraction of the cost. In addition, current educators can enhance their teaching credentials by pursuing an education endorsement or master’s degree in education from Walsh.
Engineering Jobs
As educational careers and instructional certifications become more specialized, education graduate programs are reflecting this by encouraging students to declare a concentration within their education degree program. Some universities award a Master’s as a first degree following an integrated programme of study (an ‘integrated master’s degree’). In other schools, a master’s degree opens the door to administration positions such as principal or assistant principal. The Education Department Ambassadors are a group of students chosen by the faculty to assist the department.

Teaching Degrees & Careers
According to the United States Department of Education, 92 million adults took part in some type of formal education to accommodate new job requirements, earn an advanced degree, keep their skills current or simply to attain a higher education. Many college students become interested in the early childhood education curriculum simply because they want to become better parents. Early childhood education is a field where educators care for and teach children of a young age. Non-accredited master’s degrees will be described as “Master” on its own, without the term “Universitario”.
B.A. in elementary education students should enroll in the School of Education’s recommended sequence of core and major course requirements during their first two years. A minimum of 120 credits is required for a bachelor’s degree in early education. A candidate in the Associate of Science in Education degree program will fulfill the following learning outcomes as demonstrated through a combination of course work, field experience, capstone experience, and portfolio.

When you complete your degree in Elementary Education from Lindenwood University, you are a certified teacher ready to teach grades 1-6 in the classroom.
To become a principal, most states require candidates to have a master’s degree from a regionally accredited school, a teaching certificate, and at least three years of teaching experience.
